Leah Flynn
Fifteen-year-old violinist extraordinaire Leah Flynn, aspires to be a solo concert violinist with a steady presence. Leah was born in Brooklyn New York, however, now resides in Orlando, Florida with her parents. Leah started playing the violin at age five and attends lessons twice per week with her teacher. Leah made her debut with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra at age eight and has guested four times with the Orchestra. Leah was the State Winner for Florida Federation of Music Clubs for Violin Concerto Junior ll Competition in May 2019, and the winner of The New Talent International String competition children’s group in May 2019.
Leah joined the Metropolitan Area Youth Symphony in Orlando Florida at age six and was concertmaster for three years for their Intermezzo and Repertory groups at age seven, eight and nine. Notable past performances include Bishop T.D Jakes Talk Show, The NAACP National Convention in 2016 and 2017, The White House Christmas Tours, along with many other events.
More recently, Leah auditioned successfully and was selected to be a part of Carnegie Hall NYO2 Summer2023 Residency program. Leah also performed The National Anthem for The Orlando Magic/Miami Heat game in February 2023. Also in February 2023, Leah performed in The National PBS Special, "Black Broadway: A Proud History, A Limitless Future" where she performed "Summertime" from "Porgy and Bess" accompanied by The American Pops Orchestra.
In 2017, Leah and her parents formed the Heart for Strings Foundation in the hopes of inspiring underserved youth in various communities to play an instrument. Presently less than 2% of African- Americans are on the roster of mainstream orchestras.

Leah is in the tenth grade, whose hobbies includes reading, singing, and playing the piano. Leah aspires to combine her love for others and playing the violin in her future endeavors.
